Are you passionate about driving global communications strategies that challenge inequality and promote social justice? We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join us as the Communications & Media Lead. As a key member of our Global Secretariat Management Team, you will be part of the team that is collectively responsible for the delivery of the Fight Inequality Alliance’s 10-year road  map. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction, driving impact, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.


About the role:

You will work closely with the Head of the Secretariat, the General Secretary and lead a talented team across digital and traditional media platforms. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies, driving digital engagement, managing media relationships, and amplifying key stories of change as well as enhancing FIA's visibility, reputation, and strategic impact.


What you'll do:

  1. Lead digital communications and branding activities, driving growth and engagement targets


  2. Identify and deliver key stories of change, training and enabling spokespeople within FIA

  3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers

  4. Oversee content creation for various platforms and channels, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines

  5. Monitor social media trends and analytics, optimising content performance and audience engagement

  6. Collaborate with alliance members to define strategic objectives and goals

  7. Lead MEL process for Communications Strategy, ensuring continuous improvement and impact assessment.


What we're looking for:

  1. Minimum 10 years of experience in communication, media relations, or public relations, preferably in an international or non-profit setting

  2. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering collaboration

  3. Proven track record in developing and executing communications strategies that drive impact and change

  4. Proficiency in digital communications and social media management, including analytics tools and content management systems

  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English (additional languages preferred)

  6. Commitment to FIA's values, including a strong feminist understanding, advocacy for diversity and inclusion, and grassroots organising

  7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive innovation in communication strategies
