The Embassy of Ireland, London is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking person with excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills to join the Embassy team as an administrative assistant.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The precise range of duties will vary over time according to the needs of the Embassy, but will include the following:
Responsibility for day-to-day administrative tasks;
Front of office duties including dealing with visitors to the Embassy, phone and email enquiries;
Providing administrative support to the Embassy team as needed;
Assisting with the organisation of events, which can range from large-scale meetings, to in-house lunches or high-level visits and meeting with partners;
Contact database updating and maintenance;
Management of individual projects, including procurement etc.;
Contributing as part of the wider Embassy team.
Essential Requirements- Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have:
previous professional experience in a similar role;
excellent interpersonal skills, both for working in a team and also engaging effectively with people outside of the organisation;
flexibility, efficiency and effectiveness showing strong organisational skills, attention to detail, able to work under pressure and to manage multiple tasks;
a solutions-oriented approach to completing tasks, and are committed to delivering results, including by adapting approach if necessary;
a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel);
All applicants must have a permanent legal right to reside and work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable Skills and Experience: A knowledge of Ireland; An understanding of the role of the Embassy; Previous experience in a diplomatic mission is desirable, but not essential.
